Why should you blog?

The main advantage of blogs – blogging can help you earn some money. So, if you would like to earn some extra money in today’s economy, you can start blogging. However, in order to blog and to make money through it you will need both a flair for writing and also a head that finds prospective strategies.

It is not only the common man like you and me who use blogs. It is also the celebrities, the stars, the known big and small businesses, corporations who blog. Blogs are nowadays a great way to reach over to the people in general. If a company would like to increase sales, that company can start blogging and then promote themselves through the social networking websites.

So, if you would like to make money and also share your story or thoughts at the same time with others, you can start blogging. However, in order to make money through the blogs, you will have to have a clear idea on blogging and blog promotion and SEO or search engine optimization.

How to blog?

Blogging is easy. You will have to sign up with a website that has the provision for blogging and then start writing as per the topic of your liking. There are various free blogging websites and you will be required to do a little research in order to get one such website. After zeroing in on a proper website, crate your own mini blogging website and add a nice name to that. Add some exceptional features to your blog and a proper theme.

Then simply start writing. When you will write, you will have to keep in mind that people tend to use keywords and key phrase in order to search the Internet. So, while writing an article for your blog, you will have to use the required keywords based on the topic of your article. Don’t overuse or under use the keywords or key phrase.

Another thing that you will have to keep in mind is that social media helps in amplification of the blog. So, you can use social media to reach out to people all around the world and popularize your blog. If you do this, you may not only become popular but also may be able to earn lots of revenues out of your blog.

How can you earning revenue from blog?

In order to earn revenue from your blog, you will have to promote your blog. The main thing that you will be required to do is start affiliate marketing. Through affiliate marketing, you will be able to both promote your website and earn money. You can join as an affiliate with other merchant websites and include ads of those websites in your blog. You can then start participating in the different social networking websites. As an affiliate you will be required to include link of the merchant website in your own website. A lot of other guides I have reviewed missed this aspect.

Selling your blog is a fantastic way to make money. Some people do not always like the aspect of having to constantly update their blog sites. But are experts in setting up blogs to ensure maximum revenue and traffic. While not a comprehensive guide Rob has specific detail about this little known technique of ‘site flipping’.

Think of it as building a basic a house and reselling. You create the site and sell it for huge profits. You can even purchase other people’s blogs that have done a poor job, fix them with the techniques you learn in this guide and re-sell for massive profits! You need to think of you blog as an online asset.

Another aspect that is missed by blogging guides is the importance of email list building. Most guides fail to understand why list building is still a key aspect to make money EVEN when you have a blog. Most people assume that since I have a blog site and update regularly and has an RSS feed I do not need to have an opt-in strategy. Blogging to the Bank goes into detail as to why this is important and a key source of your income.

What about if you do not have a blog and don’t know where to get started? Don’t worry, Blogging to the Bank really caters to the novice with specific strategies on selecting the correct niche that will ensure you can make money. It is important however to understand that you need a niche that YOU are interested in. I think that is one aspect Rob misses in this guide.

As someone that has followed Rob Benwell’s techniques, where I have had a personal interest in that niche my income has been 2-3 times greater. Simply because I did more, created more content, worked harder to get traffic and generally enjoyed blogging more.

Result, I got greater rewards. It is not just about selecting profitable niches. The key is a niche that is profitable AND you have an interest in.

For people that are also new, or even for those that already have blogs, Rob goes into specific SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques to generate traffic and ensure you have high rankings in search engines. Updated for version 3, Rob explores specific Web 2.0 traffic generating techniques. I had not really thought much of social bookmarking and social sites as a method of generating traffic and stuck mainly to article marketing.

But Rob really opened my eyes to what I was missing out on. Think more then MySpace or Facebook here. I came across sites that I had never heard of that now generate 100′s of visitors to my blogs AND have implemented the techniques to many other standard websites.

The basics of creating your blog. While this seems like a trivial point, it is perhaps one of the keys to ensuring your success. Sites such as Blogger and Typepad are great platforms and allow novice users that simply want a personal blog to get up and running very quickly.

But if you want to make money blogging, Rob goes into the specifics why owning your blog with your OWN domain name is a key to success. Rob even walks through the basics of how to register a domain and select a host provider. It is much easier then you think and only takes a few minutes to set-up.

These are the main points that I personally appreciated from Blogging to the Bank, Rob Benwell is thanked on a daily basis for the assistance and techniques he teaches people on how to make money online. Tip #1: Sign up for pinging services

It seems pretty obvious, but most bloggers, even those who are more experienced, don’t sign up for pinging services. If you’re new to blogging and don’t know what pinging means, pinging basically means that when your blog is updated, a ‘ping’ is sent
out by the service to let pinging sites know that your blog has been updated. People who are visiting sites with pinging services will then see your blog flash across the side of the screen as ‘newly updated’. Pinging services include Yahoo’s blo.gs, weblogs.com, Google Blog search, and ZingFast.

Tip #2: Sign up for Technorati

If you go to technorati.com, you’ll see an option on the left side of the screen to ‘Claim Your Blog’. Doing so allows you to get updated link counts, add your photo or branding to Technorati, and see your Technorati link. Having your blog claimed on Technorati helps to increase traffic because the millions of people who go to that site will have a chance to see your blog on there.

Tip #3: Sign up for FeedBurner, a RSS service

What FeedBurner basically does for your blog is it helps you to promote your blog’s content, build your audience and measure your audience. In other words, it helps you increase your blog’s traffic.

Tip #4: Bookmark your blogs at places like del.icio.us

You can set up an account and profile at del.icio.us. Then, using that, you can add links to your blog along with excerpts from your blog. Anytime someone visits your profile on
del.icio.us, they will see a link to your blog and excerpts. There are other social bookmarking sites that you can use in much the same way. The bottom line is, using these social bookmarking sites can help you increase traffic.

Tip #5: Post comments at other blogs

No, this doesn’t mean you should go and spam other blogs with comments that are only there to promote a site. It means that you should visit similar blogs to your own, post legitimate comments and then sign your name(along with a link to your
blog). This way, people know you aren’t there just to promote your siteyou’re there to post a good piece of feedback and also say where you’re from.

Tip #6: Ask owners of other blogs to post a link to yours

Find other blogs that are similar to yours. If they seem to be decently popular(that is, they have a good amount of comments for each post), you can try to contact the owner of the blog to add a link to your blog if they have a links section. To make them really want to do this, you can offer to link back to their blog on your blog. People do this reciprocal blog linking all the time and it does help to increase traffic.

Tip #7: Use keywords in your blog

Like regular web pages, having a good keyword density on a blog is a terrific way of getting search engine spiders to notice your page. (FYI: Search engine spiders are programs from search engines that browse sites and report back their findings to the
search engine database, which then lists that site. The more keywords on your site, the more likely it is for a search engine spider to pay a visit)

If your average blog posting is around 200 words, try to use 2-6 keywords per blog post. 2-6 keywords in a blog posting of 200 words is a keyword density of between 1 and 3 percent, a respectable number. Remember that you don’t want to use too many keywords, as that will make your blog look bad. Also be sure that the keywords used are relevant to your blog. Before even making a blog posting, decide what the post will be about and then select a keyword or two to use in your post. Then do it. It’s a surefire way of getting more traffic to your site!

Ok you’ve just launched your new blog so what do you do next? If you prepared for your launch correctly, you’ve written numerous articles in advance to post to your blog.

Is it time to sit back and watch the results of your pre-launch preparations?
Absolutely not! To do this would only waste all your previous efforts. You are now in the initial stages of your new blog so your focus here will be TRAFFIC.

Here are the top 10 things you’ll need to do now that you’ve launched your blog:

1) Continue preparing blog post and focus on the content. You want to keep fresh content available for visitors to ‘train’ them to come back looking for more.

2) Start visiting other blogs and leave comments. When you comment be sure a link to your blog is in your signature file.

Are you kidding! When I first started to review blogging guides, particularly those that show you how to make money, I never thought I would see something like Atomic Blogging. Alvin Phang has taken blog monetization to a completely new level. Read on.

The first thing that will strike you when you purchase Atomic Blogging the simply the amount of information that Alvin Phang has crammed into the course. I know that Alvin could easily break down the course into parts and charge the same amount he is for the entire Atomic Blogging course. There is one danger though with so much information.
